The Role of Support Educator with Us

The mission is to be a resource in the work team with your in-depth knowledge and support your colleagues in their daily work.

Working as a support educator means increased responsibility for quality and a holistic view, as well as ensuring that development and coordination within the unit are permeated by a user focus. The goal is good living conditions for the individual in terms of participation and self-determination. The primary mission of the support educator is to be present in the user-oriented work and to be part of the work group.

The assignment involves providing support and guidance to your colleagues in their daily work. Develop routines and working methods for the operation together with your support educator colleague and support assistant colleagues.

Provide support to colleagues by:

• ensuring that routines are followed together with another support educator in the operation.
• introducing and mentoring newly hired staff together with another support educator in the operation.
• guiding and supporting colleagues in a professional manner and good approach together with another support educator in the operation.
• working together with another support educator and other colleagues in the operation to ensure that a pedagogical approach and evidence-based methods are used and evaluated, such as clarifying pedagogy, alternative and complementary communication, and low-arousal responses.
• guiding and supporting colleagues with social documentation, implementation plans, and action plans as well as evaluations.

Your Profile

We would like you to have the ability to create a pleasant environment and that you find it easy to work in a team. It is also an advantage if you can adapt to changing circumstances and maintain your calm in stressful situations. You need to have the willingness to try to understand others' situations and adapt accordingly. We consider it essential that you are passionate about the target group and have an inner commitment to our users. As a person, you are solution-focused, unpretentious, and structured. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• is an educated social educator, social worker, or has another pedagogical post-secondary education such as YH education in the field
• has previously worked with a low-arousal approach
• has experience with the target group
• has experience with individual goal work
• has experience with documentation according to applicable legislation

It is an advantage if you have:

• a B driver's license

About Us

At Kommunvägen's group home, six individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and/or mental health issues reside. The work involves providing support to the residents in all aspects of daily life. We work based on a low-arousal method and clarifying pedagogy.

We offer a permanent full-time position starting February 16 or by agreement.

Within the Department of Individual & Family Care, all employees within Housing with Special Services and Support at Home are employed full-time but have the opportunity to reduce their desired working hours based on the needs of the operation.
